FEINA STUDIO, Split House
The Split house, located in a dense neighborhood in Palma, reflects the early 20th-century industrial heritage with its row houses and bourgeois villas. This area accommodated a large workforce, resulting in simple row houses and ornate villas for foremen and business owners. The Split house contributes to this monumental architecture through its façade and urban proportions, adapting to the sloping topography with a series of stepped platforms connecting the street to the courtyard. Utilizing CLT construction, it minimizes wall thickness to maximize interior space and incorporates bio-based materials like wood and natural cork to reduce energy consumption. The interior features a "vanilla ice-cream" color paint that highlights the timber texture, complemented by saturated colors to emphasize specific areas, chosen in collaboration with the client.
